Father's Day!

Steve's first father's day was terrific! We started the weekend out with Boden's first Rapids Game on Saturday night. The Rapids are Colorado's major league soccer team (and incidentally, last season they won the MLS cup). We had purchased a pack of tickets and were lucky enough to get to go onto the field before the game and see the MLS cup. Got quite a few photos of Boden with all the cool Rapids schwag. And even though the Rapids lost to the LA Galaxy (even without star David Beckham) - it was a fantastic day.

On Sunday, Boden, Delilah and I went for a 3 mile run and let "Daddy" sleep in. It was a beautiful and great start to my morning which involved bacon, cinnamon rolls and coffee when Steve woke up. He also got a (if I do say so myself) pretty cool gift. Steve didn't own a soccer ball! So, I got him a super cool ball (the Tango - which is the ball from the 1982 Spanish World Cup). This ball will be awesome for his men's teams, and for him and Boden to kick around. Later in the afternoon Steve's father, Nancy, and his Grandparents stopped by for a BBQ (all were in town for the weekend). We tried very hard for another 4 generations of Fezler, family photo and had a wonderful time catching up, getting Boden to giggle, and just being together.
A whirl wind weekend! Wheew!

PS.
Boden's new favorite thing is reaching for Beers. He loves reaching for them - and Dad thinks its HILARIOUS! (note: the beer spilled all over my lap as I clicked this photo. Worth it? You decide!)

Our Sleep Solution

Well, after a few nights of restless sleep, we are back to our original sleep solution... BABY JAIL! This time though, we tie him so tight that he can't use his legs for momentum to flip over. Boden = 0, Mom and Dad =1.

(well, we might all be losers in this scenario actually... I think we're just delaying the inevitable... locomotion).

Good thing he's so cute!

Sooooo..... apparently Boden isn't so much of a "sleeper". But, we have a new (and from the Internet research that I've found) pretty common sleep problem that has arisen. Boden can roll over (he also likes to be swaddled, so we're trying to hit these two birds with one stone). The past few nights we've started putting him to bed unswaddled and he rolls onto his side.... sleeps a bit - then rolls onto his tummy. There he is stuck and begins to wail! (note: he did this swaddled also, so I feel like at least with his arms out he has a chance to TRY and roll himself back. When he was in swaddle it was like face down baby jail! Good luck rolling over when you look like a baby snassage)

So, we've tried all the techniques in the book... and will continue to do so, as my understanding is that he will either learn to roll over himself again... or learn to sleep on his tummy. But if anyone has any other helpful stories or advice - we're all EARS! I'm not longer too concerned about SIDS from tummy sleep... just sleep deprivation for all of us (Delilah doesn't seem too bothered).
