AJ and Logan's Wedding

AJ and Logan getting married in Estes Park, CO

Mid July Steve and I were honored to  be in our friend AJ and Logan's Wedding. Now, although there is some debate about who actually introduced the two and formed the love connection. (As the sparks started flying at our friend Alex and Michelle's wedding the year before, and Michelle claims it was her table arrangement - however, I'm pretty sure I started scheming a few weeks before at our other friend's wedding when it was apparent that AJ and Logan would totally hit it off - we currently agree that both of us were instrumental in the match). It was really cool to both be VIPs at a wedding. Steve and Alex were two of the groomsmen and Michelle and I were both bridesmaids. To top off the amazing wedding in Estes park, it was our first baby-free weekend since Boden was born. Steve and I relaxed in a private suite with a 2 person hot tub on the deck and amazing waterfall/ shower copper tub fireplace wielding room. My parents flew in from California to watch Boden... and although he was wearing and eating some interesting things when we got home; everyone survived!

Rapids Game

Our Fourth of July this year was spent at one of our favorite events - soccer! The Colorado Rapids have a game and fireworks every fourth of July. Last year we went with little baby Boden - but this was Boden's first toddler experience at a Soccer game. He loved watching them play, although towards the end of the night he did tell us "All done!" a few times. "No buddy, just a little longer". We watched the fireworks for a bit, but from inside the stadium they were a pretty overwhelming, and Boden got scared. But from the parking lot he was just fine. We watched them go "boom!". We were lucky this year to even get fireworks. Due to the recent Colorado fires and extremely dry weather, almost all the city/ event fireworks elsewhere in the state had been cancelled.

Father's Day

Boulder Airport 2012
I was so excited for this year's Father's Day. It just so happened that the local airport was having an airshow. I didn't tell Steve anything about what to expect for the day. I just made him pack a backpack and get the bikes ready.

One thing I love about Boulder is how walkable and bikeable it is. We live right on the Goosecreek bike path, which can pretty much get you anywhere in Boulder through a series of adjoining paths. When I was training for my marathon a few years ago I was able to run 20 miles without ever touching an actual road or intersection... it was all run on the bike paths.

The Boulder airport is only about 2 miles away due East from our path. So we got the bikes ready and I had to give directions as we rode.

"Nope - we're not there yet."

"Nope... keep going Steve."

" Yes I have a plan!"

Finally as we got closer he figured it all out. Not that Steve loves airplanes or anything, but I knew he would be excited because Boden was so excited. We got to watch planes take off and land... see lots of people with doggies, and even go in some amazing WWII bombers.

Then we road our bikes back home and met some friends for lunch at our local Korea House. Boden chowed some veggi eggrolls and we enjoyed Bulgulgi and miso soup. Yum!

Baby Dos

Right before our trip to Hawaii, Steve and I found out that we are expecting baby #2. We were so surprised and excited (this was a sur-planned baby; we thought it would take longer to get pregnant than it did). We told Boden, but he kept his mouth shut during our vacation. We didn't tell anyone else because we wanted to just focus on having fun with our family of 3 and the Grandparents and Uncle Brian and Auntie Meghan. After our first appointment when we got back, we sent out this photo to our parents on both sides. Boden has no idea what he is in for!

Baby #2 (Baby Dos) is expected to make an appearance around January 2nd. If this one is like Boden, maybe mid-January... and if this baby wants to give us a great tax break, we accept anything prior to December 31st at midnight!
