Hawaii - more photos

Here are a few more of our favorites. I titled the first one "love bites". With a toddler, or maybe more specifically, with Boden - even a lovely little hug for daddy is an opportunity to exercise ones independence and comic timing.

Hawaii - the story!

Perhaps it took so long for me to write about Hawaii, because I didn't really want to be back. I was still there in my mind, laying on the beach and playing with my boys and family. Suffering without a/c during a huge heatwave in Boulder in June by pure denial.

Alas, I'm now finally back to reality - and back to the blog (yay)! Our trip to Maui was an amazing and generous celebration by my parents for their 40th Wedding Anniversary. Although we were nervous for the 8 hour flight (through Dallas) - Boden was so great that people actually congratulated us when we landed. Mai Tai's, fresh pineapple, delicious "pu pus" and cherries for Boden instantly revitalized us.

Like anything with a toddler the key to our success was immediately getting on a schedule, and one I quickly got used to. We stayed at the Marriott and would start our days at 6:30 when Boden woke up. We headed down to Starbucks for a breakfast sandwhich, or oatmeal, and Boden loved the parfaits. Then it was off to the beach to play for a few hours. Then off to the kid pool where Boden loved running under the waterfalls. Shortly thereafter, we would head to the adult pool for some swimming and hot tub time (Boden loves hot tubs). We usually had lunch at the pool, or would head out - and then back to our room where the whole Fezler (and sometimes Godlewski Family) would take 2-3 hour naps. It was glorious! After nap we would go for walks, or to the pool and then get ready for dinner out and about. (I am now currently craving coconut shrimp, Curses!)

We did head out and explore on a few occassions - and Uncle Brian became Boden's best friend after breakfast at Longhi's when he would hold Boden's hand and ride the escalator over, and over, and over again. So fun!

Tiki Time! (Boden still grabs his Tiki and says "tiki!")
Boden even got a lucky Tiki from Pop-Pa (as he now calls him). What a wonderful trip! Thank you Mom and Dad for giving us such wonderful memories.
