Boden is Three!

It sure is birthday time around here. On the 25th Boden turned 3 years old! Boden is so creative and talkative and loves sports of any kind. We're still working on potty-training and have had lots of successes but not really consistency. Sigh. At Boden's annual checkup he weighs 32 pounds (50th%) is 37 1/4  inches (40th%).

My parents flew out for a visit on Friday evening and Steve and I went to Boden's preschool with some cupcakes to celebrate with his friends.

On Saturday the whole family went down to the Denver Zoo (all the photos are on my phone, so I'll have to update with another blog later). When we got back and Milo napped, Boden and Grammie made his birthday cake. Vanilla and strawberry per Boden's request. He loves to cook (and taste what he is baking). It was another great opportunity for some birthday photos.

Little Weekend Adventures

Between Milo's birthday and Boden's birthday was a holiday weekend - and we decided to have a few little adventures. I had trained through the fall to get back into running shape. Although it wasn't my fastest half marathon, it was one of the most enjoyable one's I've run. A local running club put on the half marathon. It had great support, cheers, water, bathrooms, mile makers and hills. Steve and the boys were even there to cheer me on when I finished.

Monday was a holiday for MLK, so we went out to breakfast at the Buff and then headed to the train museum. It was a little cold and windy, but the boys loved watching the little replica Thomas train ride the rails.

Happy Birthday Milo

Milo turned One on the 16th of January. We decided to celebrate at home as a family. Boden helped to make Milo's birthday cake and we ate spaghetti and opened presents to celebrate our big guy. Earlier in the day Milo played in his crib filled with balloons while I got some great photos of my big guy.

I love seeing how much my boys grew the first year

ONE YEAR!

Milo is a year old. He's so sweet and wonderful and sings E-I-E-I-Ohhhh. He loves waking up in the morning when Boden crawls into his crib with him and his favorite past time is still chasing balls and spinning in circles and spinning anything (toys, pinwheels, propellers, wheels). He is our happy comedian but when he needs some love, nothing but his mommy's arms will do.

He is 30 3/4 inches tall (75th %)
He weighs 23 pounds and 4.5 ounces (55th%)
and his head is 18 1/2 centimeters (55th %)

2013. The fantastic madness!

I don't think we will ever have a year quite like 2013. I look back and am astonished at all the change it brought. Our little family was so blessed in so many ways with so much change and accomplishment in such a short time. Here are a few photos to highlight everything, and a little list to remind me that anytime I feel busy or stressed I should just remember 2013 and roll with it!

  • I gave birth to our handsome son Milo
  • Both boys wound up in the hospital - eeak!.
  • We sold our house and bought a new one (fit for family!)
  • I packed a house and moved with a newborn, while Steve was attending school in the evenings.
  • Steve graduated with an MBA (so proud!)
  • We survived the great FLOOD.
  • We rebuilt the flooded wall in the basement.
  • I managed to juggle working from home and having Milo home (with some help).
  • We survived a weekend without heat on the coldest days the whole year.
  • Boden and Milo grew a whole year older with so many new skills and memories.
We're so excited to see what 2014 brings!

Milo's First Christmas

Christmas Morning

Christmas was so exciting this year. Jacques flew back to the north pole on Christmas eve, and we had  so much fun entertaining Brian and Meghan during their visit. Steve's family was also in town and we got to host them for Christmas morning brunch, and had Marc and Brenda for a few days afterward.

Santa didn't fail to delight. He brought Boden a Zurg, and Milo a ride-on airplane. There were lots and lots of toys from all family on both sides. Thank you to everyone who sent such delightful presents!
