Growing up so fast

Playing in the backyard on Sunday

Note the sunscreen semi-rubbed in, and the sand on his lips (yes, he was tasting the sand and laughing)

This is how we roll...

Buffalo Wild Wings on a Saturday Night. We're at that "hard to eat out in public" stage with Milo... we're working on it, but might as well enjoy the casual dining at 4:30pm while we can.

Work Trip

A few weeks ago, I had to travel to Plano, TX for a whole week for my new job. Not only was it the first time away from the kids for more than a night, but it was Milo's first time to totally rely on Daddy! Sadly, Milo ended up getting Strep that Monday and Steve had to stay home from work for 2 3 days to care for him. But it was great in the end. Milo and Daddy have turned a corner in their relationship. I missed everyone immensely, and owe my wonderful husband a debt of gratitude, but all-in-all it was a good week for the Fezlers.

Racing

I signed up for another Half Marathon, the former Boulder Backroads. Its a beautiful course on mostly dirt roads. I didn't train as well as I should have, and it was a very hot day (this I kept telling myself) as I woke up with a scratchy sore throat, but I was looking forward to the run and the scenery. I actually made a little list in my head of things I was noticing. My accomplishments of the day. Ran 13.1 Miles. Passed a miniature pony, was passed by ZZ Top (one of them anyway). But my funny little list took a tragic turn. A runner had collapsed about 400 feet from the finish line - and unfortunately, I and many other runners had to run by a woman getting chest compressions as her friends looked on. Surreal and very tragic I was a little shaken up as I drove home.

As the day wore on I (slight propensity for hypochondria) kept asking Steve if I "felt hot". I just knew I had a fever, and ... then suddenly, I just realized why my throat hurt. I drove myself to urgent care and within the hour was diagnosed with Strep throat. (for the second time this year, mind you). The perils of toddlers. So, I felt even better about my half marathon that morning. Hey, I didn't die (too soon? too soon?) AND, I ran with strep.

On a lighter note, my friend Patty talked me into running the Bolder Boulder with her. Its one of the largest road races in the world. Its fantastic! We had a great time, and it was so fun to run with a friend, in a light hearted event.

Fantastic May

Warming their bodies in the sun (photo by Steve!)
Colorado in May is near perfection. Sure, it snowed on Mother's Day, but in general, the days are warm and crisp and the evenings are cool. We have been playing in our backyard most weekends, and enjoying riding bikes to our local breweries, finishing up our soccer season and organizing play dates with some of Boden's best buds.

I call this... Blue Pool, Naked Babies

Boden got a treat of ice cream for going with me to get my race packet

Our pool opened!

We even had a Sushi dinner date as our Daycare watches the kids on Friday nights

Super

Tis the season of 3 year old birthdays, and the popularity of Super Heros is evident in the themes. Boden loves dressing up like an Incredible and celebrating with his friends.

Easter

I finally got the photos off my camera from Easter and Alexa's visit. Clearly, we love change in the spring. Last year it was moving, and Steve graduating. This year, Milo went to full time daycare and I start a new job. So, I'm sorry these photos and stories took so long to write down. Alexa came out for a few days before Easter, and we all had a wonderful time visiting and playing with the kids.

Without further adieu...
