Photoshoot - 14 months

Seriously this kid gets more fun every day. I think we made it out of the horrible teething, what is going on with my lovely child acting like a crazed lunatic phase (I know, I'm sure another one is just around the corner). But, like Steve and I say after we put him to bed he is SO Awesome. Talking, running, laughing, big enough to play by himself... I'm still shocked that they are only babies for a year.

Anyway, last night I thought, Oh man, I haven't used the camera in a while. So while putting him to bed we had an impromptu photo shoot. Here are a few of my favorites.

Cracking up playing with the humidifier (he knows he's not supposed to!)

Its not bedtime, what am I doing in my crib?! So silly!

March Madness - Go CU!

Loving the trailer - Boden is sad we stopped for a photo

Another beautiful day in Boulder, CO. It has been an amazing week here, both weather wise, and CU Basketball wise. CU Men's Basketball made it to the Big Dance! (and we won our first game last night!)

I absolutely love where we live. We invested in a bike trailer for Boden, and have been reaping the benefits all week by taking him to and fro on our bikes. We literally live steps away from one of the many paved creek paths, and can ride a mile directly to Boden's daycare.

It’s hard to believe it’s only March with weather like this!

Steve and I "cheers" to a CU Buff win! Enjoying our beer of the month club too.

Playing in the backyard Thursday afternoon

Steve's Tonka truck ready for another generation of Fezlers

*** And I love all the photo apps available on the iphone - these were all taken and edited with the iphone.

No Choking matter…

Slow down and chew your food buddy! As if we weren’t already in love enough with our new daycare and Boden’s teacher, Ms. Angela, we got an extra dose of why we know it’s a great fit. On Wednesday afternoon while eating his lunch, Boden was about to cough, and accidentally breathed in a piece of his apple. Thank goodness they are so attentive and well trained and noticed right away that he was choking. Boden was promptly given the Heimlich – twice – to get that apple out. Although everyone was a little shaken up – by the time I arrived to pick him up, he was laughing and playing and everyone was just fine.

So, the lesson here – make sure you’re up to date on your Certifications and know the Heimlich! Infants after one year of age can be given either the back thrusts or the Heimlich (which even I don’t think I would remember that Boden is old enough for the actual Heimlich). Both striking the back and the Heimlich are shown to be effective, but just make sure you attempt to get the object out if someone starts to choke. Angela told me they just had their refresher course a month ago, so she was ready to go!

How do you pay back a life debt? Why caffeine and alcohol of course!

Read up, and stay prepared!
